heather plus mike

i wish i didn’t sound like a little gushy schoolgirl when i mention how happy/lucky/excited i was to be invited to photograph heather and mike’s special day.  heather, who is from washington and mike, from florida, met in new york and chose to have their wedding as a weekend getaway in the catskills, a couple hours outside of manhattan.

with a destination wedding, they kept it small, only parents and immediate friends. so intimate, even the cake and dress were made by guests (omg pockets in her wedding dress!!!).  this made for a perfect day, and i cannot thank them enough for allowing me and my camera into that small circle.

a few nights in philly

taking a week and half off of life in seattle seemed impossible when we left. after a long flight, we touched ground in philly, and we knew immediately it would all be okay. spending the days with summer & jessica, and taking it to the streets with jonny, kaci, lloyd & sean to wreak havoc with old friends reminded me that it was okay to just relax and take in our surroundings.
this photo was taken while meredith and i took an unknown path back to our friends house… we were beneath the city’s rail system in the fishtown area of philly. no tripod, no strobes… i had tried using my own bike seat to stabilize. this was my favorite from that night.
