as i spend the long weekend here in metro detroit visiting family and old friends, i find myself driving a lot more than i am accustomed to in seattle…. so when i had a half hour break in my daily schedule of events, i took the opportunity to get off the freeway and drive around some roads in the city i was born and raised in. as i was snapping away, i was reminded of how many photos i have taken in the form of a “drive-by shooting”. these are no exception.

I saw these on the other blog this morning. God, Detroit looks so bombed out and awful – it makes me sad. I still heart Michigan, despite all of its struggles and missteps.
